About us

Stenåsa Stugor & Camping is a scenically located campsite in the middle of the World Heritage site in southeastern Öland, with natural coastline towards the Baltic Sea. Wide expanses of water and open cultivated landscapes surround this tranquil oasis, with a rich flora and fauna right on its doorstep, awakening to birdsong.

We don't have bouncy castles, water parks, or lovely beaches – many other campsites on Öland do offer those – but we provide an opportunity for peace and quiet combined with close-to-nature experiences!

There are 13 cabins, of which 12 have their own shower and toilet, and 1 camping cabin. The cabins have beds for 2 to 5 people. Our 2-bed cabins are newly built in 2023 – 2025.

At our campsite you can stay with a tent, caravan or motorhome, and you can choose to stay with or without electricity. Our marked pitches are approx. 100 sqm. There are 86 pitches with electricity, and 14 pitches without electricity. All our pitches with electricity have a 10 A / EU/CEE-216 connection. Adapters are available for purchase at reception. If you choose to stay without electricity, the pitches are unmarked within specified areas.

Access to service buildings with toilets, showers and kitchen via card. The cost for showers is additional according to the current price list. Access to washing machines and tumble dryers can be booked separately.

Feel free to visit us during spring and autumn when the bird migrations move along the coast and you can hear birdsong in the trees outside the cottage or caravan. With its rich birdlife right on our doorstep, we are one of Öland's best birding locations. Our birdwatching tower is a comfortable distance away down on the beach.

The large lake districts surrounding the campsite invite you to go hiking and explore the rich flora, including several species of orchids and other unique vegetation. We are a great base for exploring the Southern Ölandic agricultural landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage site, taking a walk on the alvar, or going on a "konstrunda" (art tour) and harvest festival. Our proximity to several of Öland's ancient hill forts (Sandby Borg, Triberga Borg, Bårby Borg, Grå Borg, Eketorps Borg) makes it a suitable starting point for a "borg-safari" (fortress safari) to experience the whispers of history.

For the children, there is a smaller playground with swings, as well as adventure golf for the whole family.

During the peak summer season (15/6 to 9/8), there is a café and a simple shop.
